Random Thoughts About Ducks

I used to envision motherhood something along the lines of the mother duck. You know, mother duck waddling around, across the road, her little ducklings following adoringly in a line right behind her. Unfortunately it's really more like the song. You know mother duck says, "Quack, quack, quack, quack." And each time one less duckling responds by coming. Or in my case, "Quack, QuaCK, QUACK QUACK QUAAAACK!!!!!." :) I sure love it though! -Really I do! Guess I'll just keep quacking.

A Rainforest and a Volcano

On the fourth day of our trip we drove to the east side of the island. We went to see the active volcano -Kilauea. We didn't see any lava but it was still cool to see the smoking crater and the steam vents coming out of the ground everywhere. There is tropical rainforest all around the volcano so we went to go through an old lava tube that you can walk through. It was really creepy but really cool. And Brett spotted a street sign that he said he just HAD to get my picture by.

Sunset in Hawaii

Adventure on the Northern Coast of Hawaii

On the third day of our trip we drove up to the Northern part of the island. We explored a lava rock sea shore and saw crabs, fish, and sea urchins in the tide pools. Again we were the only ones there. Which was good because no one saw me run from a little wave, except Brett who of course took a picture. It was all part of his evil plot I'm sure because he wanted to get 'a picture of me with the waves.' Yeah right, I'm onto you honey, trying to make me look bad? Just kidding! Apparently June is the off season in Hawaii. Weird. The Northern part of the island was beautiful grasslands. We also saw the statue of Hawaiian King Kamehameha, and some more cats.

On our first morning in Hawaii we both got up before sunrise and went out to explore the resort and the beach. The sand was a really cool salt and pepper color. It was a little misty and we only saw a couple people so it was very peaceful and super awesome! We slso saw a couple cats which we ended up seeing a lot of cats on our trip, I wanted to bring one home. I'm sure Hawaiian cats are way more layed back :).

Hawaii!

Brett and I are back from our week in Hawaii and it was amazing!! Everything I ever imagined it could have been and more. Of course having a break from three kids adds to the super vacation factor. I have over 300 pictures- don't worry I won't post them all but I will post some more later after I've finished the recovery process from a long vacation (i.e. laundry, house cleaning, grocery shopping, sleeping etc. :)) I'm ready to go back! This picture is at our resort. I would highly recomend it - the Waikaloa Beach Marriott, the vacation would have been amazinng even if we never left the resort.

Baby Pilates

I came into the living room and found Luka just hanging out like this and jabbering to herself. My first thought was that she was trying to exercise, but when I asked her what she was doing she replied very matter of fact, "Hide momma! Hide!" Um, I can still see you Luka, but it was a good try! :)
