Copper Mine

Last Saturday we took the kids up to Kennecot to see the trucks and the mine. I was pretty excited all week, and Brett and I were both excited the night before as we spent an embarassing amount of time reading up on our mine facts. We didn't tell the kids where we were going and they were pretty frustrated the whole way there (I took a picture in the car, see Tuck's face -like that (and my new haircut THANK YOU Kristy!)). When we got close they were asking if we were going to the volcano. When we got to the gate at the bottom of course our cover was blown since Tuck can read and announced we were at the Kennecot Copper Mine. It was really cool. Brett and I actually went there on our honeymoon (I know, nerds right?). The kids loved the trucks and the visitors center there is really cool. It is amazing how big those trucks are. All of the facts about the mine and the trucks were really cool (go to the Kennecot sight and click on Visitors Center and read and see if you don't want to head up for a trip. We capped it all off with a trip to the Mayan which the kids LOOOVEE! Lukas kept shouting "Birds!" "Waterfall!" "Rain!" "Look!" Nobody ate their food but it was really fun. It was one of those rare family outings where the kids and the parents both have fun.
