Easter and a Really Long Monday

We had quite an Easter weekend. We were able to spend the weekend at Brett's parents in Vernal (thanks). We got to see the whole family and visit with Brett's Grandparents too. It was nice to have plenty of time and not feel rushed. The boys had tons of funat the Naples egg hunt and at Grandma's egg hunt (and of course at their cousins were they never want to leave). Monday was our adventure day. We started out in Green River and headed for Goblin Valley first thing. It was really fun to climb and run around. After a couple hours and some lunch we headed off. We decided to take the scenic way home and try to go the back way as much as possible. We explored dirt roads through the San Rafael Swell and Castle Country north. There were only a handful of people that we saw. We got to find some pictographs and petroglyphs, and also got lucky and were able to follow some directions to a really cool dinosaur track. We drove north through Huntington Canyon and saw the Huntington Power Plant (really cool). There was an enormous amount of snow in the canyon. The banks on the side of the road were taller than the car. We got out and the boys threw snowballs, Brett built a snowman and it was amazing to see so much snow. We also saw some people Kite-boarding down a hill and Brett was a little too excited about that (I think he really wants to try it now). Anyways, unfortunately after we passed through Fountain Green we found out that the Nebo Loop was closed still and so we had to head to Nephi and hop on the freeway, but it was a really long, fun day exploring the middle of the state.

Goblin Valley! I know that place. We took Jack there last summer. I bet your kids loved climbing all over.

Glad to see you having fun road trips.

Once, Perry decided to take some road on a map that turned out to be a dirt road through some mountains. Took us 3 hours to get out of it. But we saw some extremely remote cabins. Had no idea people lived like that.

Britnar, you children are so beautiful. I still can't get over Clay's hair. It makes me giggle at how cute he is.
